uu77 Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI)

RUNOMI is an interfaculty network of more than 100 scholars working at uu77 Nijmegen who believe in the major societal contribution of interdisciplinary scientific collaboration on issues concerning migrant inclusion. Members collaborate with internal and external partners in research, teaching and societal impact activities.

RUNOMI was established in 2018 and members are affiliated with the Nijmegen School of Management, the faculties of Arts, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies and the uu77 Medical Centre.

Organisation

RUNOMI is a bottom-up network of scholars at uu77. To ensure that all faculties are equally involved, RUNOMI has a steering group with representatives of each faculty that are meeting every two month to discuss all RUNOMI activities. The daily business of RUNOMI is coordinated by the core-team, consisting of three directors (education, research, societal impact), an officer and two student assistants.

Mission

It is RUNOMI’s mission to increase awareness on campus and outside for issues of migrant inclusion. Our approach is to stimulate high quality research and teaching on migrant inclusion and to involve societal partners in those academic activities. RUNOMI strives to become a self-sustaining fundamental component of uu77 and Radboud UMC. It is an interfaculty collaboration that is expanding its network, nationally and internationally, and seeking to make a structural and valuable contribution to the scientific and public debate.

We build upon a solid interfaculty community with partners and affiliates in the public and private sector to tackle ongoing societal challenges related to the inclusion of migrants – whilst also listening to the voices and stories of the excluded. RUNOMI is a close-knit network with a world-spanning approach.
