I am associate professor Transformation Management at the Institute for Management Research, SHRM, uu77, the Netherlands. My passion in teaching and research is in understanding Diversity and Equality in Organizations, Fostering Inclusive Leadership and Inclusive Workplaces, and in Sustainability in Combining Work and Private Life.
In all my work I am passionate about promoting responsible change, for instance by co-creation of research together with stakeholders in organizations, and in teaching for instance by inviting students to collaborate in projects and supporting them in exploring their individual strengths. Following my role as primary investigator of several research projects on Gender Equality in academia, I was appointed Chief Diversity Officer for Tilburg University (2013-2018) advising the Executive Board and managing the Gender Policy department.
As a visiting academic I have worked at Northwestern University (Chicago, USA), the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia), Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore, India) and Addis Abeba University (Addis Abeba, Ethiopia). I participate(d) in a number of EU Horizon 2020 projects on transformative change.
I have published in among others Journal of Applied Psychology, Psychological Bulletin, Leadership Quarterly, Career Development International, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Organizational and Occupational Psychology, Journal of Social Issues, International Journal of Human Research Management, Studies in Higher Education, Human Resources Management Review and the Academy of Management Annals.
