Research interests include sustainable work, work motivation, attitudes and behaviours, particularly workplace commitment.

Particular research interests include:
Firstly, workplace commitment in contemporary work settings. Particularly, I look at how people develop commitment towards multiple and temporary groups over time, may be balanced or unbalanced.

Secondly, I am interested in the sustainable and responsible management of workplace commitment and related employee attitudes and behaviours, inside and outside the boundaries of organisations. How can we develop and maintain a sustainable relationship with work? I am particularly interested in answering this question with regards to the academic setting, including sustainable work relationships of students and staff. This also includes the functioning of academia within its societal context, towards a more sustainable academic system that is accessible, democratic and healthy.

Thirdly, I am searching for the meaning of the concept of workplace commitment outside what could be considered the mainstream work setting. For example, what does work mean in temporary work, work across the boundaries of the organisation and in precarious working conditions? How are commitments experienced in relation to the key social-societal challenges we are facing, such as the refugee crisis, the energy transition and global warming.
