Marina Ruiter is an Assistant Professor in Language and Speech Pathology. As a researcher, she is affiliated with the Centre for Language Studies (CLS). Within the Department of Language and Communication, she is a member of the Management Team and teaches various courses.
With 20 years of experience in the clinical rehabilitation of individuals with acquired language disorders, Marina has developed a strong foundation in clinical practice. Due to this background, she tends to lean more towards research that is clinically applicable. Her research, among other areas, focuses on developing diagnostic and treatment tools for individuals with communicative disabilities (e.g., aphasia), as well as exploring the use of e-health and virtual reality to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.
