Since 2023, a suggestion box is located next to Foucault's pendulum at the entrance of the Huygens building. Since then, we have many suggestions from employees and students. Not all ideas are feasible, but we would like to let you know which ideas have been realised.
If you have more tips or ideas, write them on the cards available at the suggestion box. Once in a while we will let you know which ideas of yours have been executed.
There was a request to reopen the connecting door to the secure bicycle parking facility, as it is difficult to manoeuvre large bicycles (with panniers) through the doorway. The door is kept closed in the evening due to unwanted visitors. During the day, the door remains open.
There was also a question about placing a wedge in the door of the bicycle basement to keep it open during the day. This is not necessary in principle, as the door has a foot-operated door opener. When both doors are opened, they will not close automatically.
Furthermore, there was a complaint about the hygiene in the gender-neutral toilets and a question about the availability of menstrual products. The hygiene complaint has since been reported to Campus & Facilities, and a menstrual product dispenser is available in the Library of Science.
Finally, there was a report about broken desk chairs in teaching room HG00.206. This has been reported to Campus & Facilities.
Shoe sweeping brushes were requested. These have now been placed at the front and back entrance of the Huygens building.
There was also a wish for a clock in Giga Bite. This has been placed last week.
There were also questions about the toilets. Whether scent dispensers could be installed: we are looking into whether this can be placed on each individual toilet. There are already scent dispensers at the sinks. Whether the light can stay on longer: the sensor time of the lighting has now been extended. Whether there is WiFi in the toilets: this is everywhere in the building, except for the toilets next to the parking garage.
There was also a question whether a light switch could be installed at the door of HG00.506. An extra light switch has been placed here.
There were questions about the lockers next to the wing 3 on the ground floor. A Radboud-wide pilot is currently underway to implement a locker system where you use your student card to open and close. More will be known about this at the beginning of the new year. For now, we would like to refer you to the lockers near the elevator at -1. There are 144 lockers there, many of which are empty.
