What are you going to learn?
This two-year dual programme trains students to become school psychologists. Your field of work covers the full spectrum from individual (learning) problems to (co-)determining supra-school policy. This covers the entire education chain, from primary education to higher education, including secondary vocational education and everything in between. Within this spectrum, you will have to deal with different levels of questions, ranging from prevention and signalling to treatment and referral. The Radboud Centre for Social Sciences organises the School Psychologist programme in collaboration .
Upon completion of this course:
- You may call yourself Child and Youth Psychologist NIP;
- With your diploma, you can register in the Child and Youth Register NIP and in the register of the Stichting Kwaliteitsregister Jeugd (SKJ);
- You have the knowledge and skills to supervise individual pupils directly, in terms of identification, diagnostics, advice, guidance and (short-term) treatment;
- You have the knowledge and skills to advise and guide teachers and school teams and to initiate and implement supra-school care activities;
- You are able to influence the pedagogical climate at your school, introduce new learning methods and, for instance, draw up and implement a school-wide anti-bullying policy.
