How is this course organised?

The Medical German course consists of 9 different modules. We consider a range of matters, including:
- taking medical history;
- conversations with patients;
- explaining diseases;
- breaking bad news;
- telephoning;
- conversations with colleagues;
- writing letters;
- the hospital structure in Germany;
- intercultural differences, like German manners and communication styles.
Approach and form
As an organisation or participant, you can follow all 9 modules but you can also select the most relevant modules. If there are several employees participating, groups will be divided according to their role and level of proficiency in German.
Participants should spend about 1 hour on self-study for each module. The course is mostly practice-based. Participants can provide examples from their work.
Location
The course can be delivered in-company or at our location in Nijmegen.
PE points
Participants can earn 3 PE points per module (max. 27 points for the full course) to be requested from KNMG/GAIA. After the course, participants receive a certificate from Radboud in’to Languages that they can use to register PE points.
Who is this course for?
The course is intended for all staff whose jobs involve contact with German patients or partners. The course is available for groups and individual participants.
