As an employee, you can use software  offered by uu77. Your workplace is equipped with standard software. You can install or request additional software. 

Software on Radboud workplace/laptop

Devices managed by the university are equipped with various basic programs.

Additional software

There are several ways to extend the standard software package with additional software. An overview of available additional software can be found in the . You can often install it yourself via the Software Center (Radboud-managed Windows workstation) or the Company Portal (Radboud-managed macOS workstation).

Software on private devices

Want to purchase software for a device not managed by uu77? Surfspot allows you to purchase free or heavily discounted software, such as SPSS and security software . You log in to with your Radboud account and Radboud password, after which you can view the offer under the ‘Software’ menu. Apps from Microsoft 365 (such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint) can be installed for free via your Microsoft account. Request new software

Do you need a functionality that is not covered by the offered software? On the , you will find the information on how to request new software (connection to EduVPN required). New software requests are assessed (at least) on the following factors: functionality, privacy, security, procurement and management. A requester from your department can then request the software for you. 

Be careful with free software

The use of free tools offered by external parties is not recommended. Often these free tools collect all kinds of personal data. When doing so, always adhere to the basic principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact your local privacy officer if you have any questions about the GDPR or the processing of personal data.
