If you have a temporary contract, you will ordinarily receive prompt notification about whether your contract is to be renewed. The duration of your contract will dictate whether the university is obliged to notify you about this. If you have a contract for:
- six months or more, the university is obliged to notify you about whether your contract will be renewed at least one month before the termination date on your contract.
- six months or less, the university is not obliged to notify you about whether your contract will be renewed.
If the university was obliged to notify you in time about whether your contract is to be renewed and failed to do so, you are entitled to compensation. If you were not notified at all, you are entitled to one month’s salary. If you were belatedly notified, you are entitled to proportional compensation (on a pro rata basis).
