Our tip: get the most out of it while it lasts! Whether you want to participate in activities without obligation or do things with an association or club, anything is possible. For example, you can:
- Participate without obligation in the activities of organisations such as the Radboud Green Office, the Student Caplaincy, or challenge yourself athletically or culturally at Radboud Sport & Culture
- Become a member of a study, sports or social club and participate in their activities.
- Do committee or board work at your club or organisation.
- Commit to helping others through participation in representative advisory bodies, target groups and interest groups or social initiatives.
Study Associations
A study association is an organisation for and by students who are following the same study programme. Study associations organise all kinds of fun activities, from career events and company visits to networking drinks. This gives you the opportunity to explore the job market and get in touch with potential employers. Useful, right?
But it is certainly not all serious – study associations also organise fun social events. Think of social get-togethers, parties, trips and sports tournaments. The perfect way to get to know fellow students, make new friends and expand your network.
Oh, and also: members often receive a discount on textbooks. A nice bonus!
Student Associations
Student associations are also known as social clubs. They are the place to build a social life alongside your studies. You get to know students from different course programmes and years and build a close group of friends, for example within your house, year club or fraternity. Many members even go to lectures and the university library together – studying is just more fun with others!
But a student association is more than just drinks and parties. You also get the chance to discover and develop your organisational skills through committee work or a board year. This is extremely valuable for your CV and your personal growth!
In Nijmegen you have a wide choice of student associations, from traditional to more alternative. Some have been around for years, others are young and innovative. There is always an association that suits you! And if you can't find anything that suits you, you can always start your own student association.
