Why study Neurobiology in Nijmegen?

A mechanistic understanding of brain organisation and function is the first step in conquering brain diseases. Are you motivated to work towards this goal from a multi-disciplinary perspective? Neuroscientists develop novel methodologies to measure, analyse and eventually control the activity of molecules, cells, networks and behaviour. While molecular and cellular neurobiologists determine the machinery that is important for creating neural circuits, systems and network biologists shed light onto how the coordinated actions of neurons lead to cognition and behaviour. This Master's specialisation covers neuroscience from cell to behaviour.

Why study Neurobiology?

  • uu77 covers the complete research field of neuroscience, from small (subcellular processes, single-cell analysis) to big (cognition, behaviour) and from experimental to big data analysis, computational modelling and advanced machine learning.
  • It is possible to do an internship at a company or at other universities in the Netherlands or abroad.
  • The programme is tailored to your needs and is flexible. You can also choose to perform your internships in other institutions elsewhere in the world.
  • Create your personal pathway to further education through a flexible pre-Master's programme or minor, whether you're coming from a university of applied sciences or research university.
